hier finden Sie die erforderlichen Informationen des Türkischen Kommunikationsamtes (İletişim Başkanlığı) zur Vorgehensweise bei der Beantragung einer permanenten Akkreditierung in der Türkei (auf Englisch).

Accreditation process for Members of the International Media assigned to Türkiye permanently can be initiated with application made to the Directorate of Communications (DoC). Press members whose applications are approved may be issued press card for one year. All applications for permanent press accreditation should only be made online.

The press members who previously made applications should use the same e-mail addresses and passwords. The applications made from different e-mail addresses shall not be accepted. The press member who cannot remember his/her e-mail address could reach us by using the following contact information. Those who remember their e-mail addresses but forgot their passwords could click „Forgot Password“ link on http://akreditasyon.byegm.gov.tr/

As known, the international press members who are resident in Türkiye can work for more than one media organization. While applying for accreditation, the press members who are working for more than an organization should add all their media organizations into the system by clicking on „Add Media Organization“ button. On the other hand, it would be sufficient for the press members to write the names of the other media organizations, they don't have to download any documents for the organizations apart from the main organization.

Regarding to the Law No. 7418 on „Amendment of Press Law and Certain Laws“, which was adopted by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye on 13 October 2022, and entered into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette on 18 October, 2022, amended the conditions for obtaining a press card. Accordingly, international members of the press who have come to Türkiye for permanent assignments or temporary assignments are required to apply for a work permit or work permit exemption. Applicants whose insurance payments are made with companies in Türkiye, should apply for ‘work permit’ Applicant whose insurance payments made with companies outside Türkiye, should apply for ‘work permit exemption’

** For the first time applications, members of the international press should apply online by uploading the following documents to the system:

1. Work visa/work permit exemption to be obtained from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security

2. Letter from the applicant’s organization confirming his/her assignment to Türkiye as a journalist and the wage relation between the applicant and the media organization

The applicant’s assignment letter must be;

addressed to Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of Communications
indicating the position/title of the applicant
including the assignment dates that the applicant will carry his/her work in Türkiye
stating that the applicant's salary is paid by the applicant’s company/media organizations.
written on a recently dated company letterhead paper and signed by the related director

3. Letter of Introduction confirming applicant’s status; obtained from the related country's (where the organisations headquarter is based) Embassy/Consulate in Türkiye (this letter must be written in Turkish.)

4. Photocopy of the ID pages of the passport

5. Passport size photo;

The photograph that will be printed on your press card must be as per requirements below;

the photograph must not be older than six months
the photograph must have a white background
must face the camera directly with both ears visible

Selfies or photos that are not up to the requirements mentioned above will not be accepted.

6. Curriculum vitae

** For the renewal of the accreditations, members of the international press should apply online by uploading the following documents to the system:

1. Work permit/work permit exemption to be obtained from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security

2. Photocopy of the ID pages of the passport

3. Letter from the applicant’s organization confirming his/her assignment to Türkiye as a journalist and the wage relation between the applicant and the media organization

The applicant’s assignment letter must be;

addressed to Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of Communications
indicating the position/title of the applicant
including the assignment dates that the applicant will carry his/her work in Türkiye
stating that the applicant's salary is paid by the applicant’s company/media organizations.

4. Letter of Introduction, confirming applicant’s status, from the media organization’s home country Consulate/Embassy in Türkiye (must be written in Turkish.)

5. Passport size photo;

must face the camera directly with both ears visible

Selfies or photos that are not up to the requirements mentioned above will not be accepted.

6. Clippings or audio/visual CDs of journalistic work in Türkiye

7. Curriculum vitae

** Members of the international press working at the Turkish Radio-Television Corporation (TRT) should apply online by uploading the following documents to the system:

1. Photocopy of the ID pages of the passport

2. Document showing your education and position obtained from the TRT Human Resources Department (Document must be addressed to „Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Directorate of Communications“ and must specify your „title“.)

3. Passport size photo;

The photograph that will be printed on your press card must be as per requirements below;

the photograph must not be older than six months
the photograph must have a white background
must face the camera directly with both ears visible

Selfies or photos that are not up to the requirements mentioned above will not be accepted.

4. Valid work permit document obtained from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security

5. Curriculum vitae

** Members of the international press working at the Anadolu Agency (AA) should apply online by uploading the following documents to the system:

1. Photocopy of the ID pages of the passport

2. Letter to be taken from the Anadolu Agency which is addressed to „Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Directorate of Communications“ confirming his/her assignment to Türkiye as a journalist and the wage relation between the applicant and Agency

3. Passport size photo;

The photograph that will be printed on your press card must be as per requirements below;

the photograph must not be older than six months
the photograph must have a white background
must face the camera directly with both ears visible

Selfies or photos that are not up to the requirements mentioned above will not be accepted.

4. Valid work permit document obtained from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security

5. Curriculum vitae

Applications that are not in compliance with the Press Card Code will be declined. Following the renewal of the Press Card, the expired press card should be returned to the DoC.
